From the highest altitude of Kalinchowk (3579meters) you could get a good view of Annapurna, Lamjung, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, Shisha Panga , Langtang, Dorjee Lakpa, Jugal Himal, Amabamori, Gauri Shanker, and Namburi Himal. A trek in this region begins with a bus ride from Kathmandu, thought the lush foothills and to Barabise.
You will also visit isolated monasteries and colorful temples.During the trek you will pass long the Sunkoshi River and through many Rhododendron forests, on clear nights you can also see the lights of Kathmandu. Another highlight of this trek is the rare chance to get up close and personal with the Thami people, a small and little heard about community living in this region, it certainly offers you a rare glimpse into a unique lifestyle.

Two natural springs originate from this area which are called Sundhara and Tama which are the main source of the very big two rivers the Sunkoshi and Tama Koshi.Goddess Kalinchowck is highly noted as a wishful filling goddess through out the country. The temple has its remarkable significance on the occasion of Janaipurnima, Dasai, Chaite Dasai, a huge procession takes place centered around the goddess. Kalinchowck is 6 hours’ walk uphill from Charikot. The fascinating Kalinchock hill also offers a gorgeous view of the Himalian range, enchanting hundred green hills, beautiful settlements etc.

In this day people boiled "Tarul (Root food)". According to the Bairage Kaila, Kirati used to take 43 types of species of root food. Among the cost of Kirati, Rai, Limbhu,, Sunuwar and Yakha had plays vital role to take legamate of their sambat. Rai says Yale Dong, Limbhu says Tanngbay and Sunuwar says Thochew for their new year.
