Introduction of Nepal
Introduction of Nepal

Nepal previously had been the world's only officially Hindu state (India, while having a Hindu majority is secular), with over eighty percent of the people following this faith. However, since 18 May 2006, Nepal has become a secular state. For a relatively small country, the Nepali landscape is uncommonly diverse, ranging from the humid Terai in the south to the lofty Himalayas in the north. Nepal boasts eight of the world's ten highest mountains, including Mount Everest. Kathmandu is the capital and largest city. After a long and rich history, during which the region has splintered and coalesced under a variety of absolute rulers, Nepal became a constitutional monarchy in 1990. On the pretext of quashing the insurgents, who now control about seventy percent of the country, the king unilaterally declared a "state of emergency" early in 2005, closing down the parliament and assuming all executive powers.

Nepal is wealthy in so many ways; in its topography for those fascinated in climbing, trekking and adventure; and in it’s culture and heritage for those interested in discovering another way of life; so we though it was time to tell you about special interest Nepal and what you could find here to learn and experience, and even immerse yourself in.

In Art, Craft and Culture we have enclosed many areas of interest, such as bronze making, wood craft, jewelry, art, pottery, and textiles, to name a few, with other just as inspiring and charming. All of these subjects can be observed in a number of ways; either from the aspect of just an observe or shopper, or even from the point of view of joining a workshop or training program.

Body, Mind and Soul reminds you of the inheritance of the Himalaya and its synchronicity, the chance to learn about religions and philosophies, to study a language or music, to observe a ritual or a dance, and to be reminded of the great studies of ayurveda, homoeopathy and Tibetan medicine.

In Nature we have reminded you that the world’s most famous arboriums probably gathered their first samples from the Himalaya, and that this country abounds with most of the butterflies and birds species in the world.
