Kirat Dynasty

The Kirats were the aborigines of north-eastern Himalayas. According to Baburam Acharya, Kiraties came to Nepal in about 700 B.C. and ruled over it. Kirats were short and had robust bodies, broad checks, flat noses, thin facial hair, and dark eyes. Karati were well trained in the art of fighting, and were very clever archers. Karati were the ancestors of the present day Kiratas: - Kulung, Thulung and Yellung. Yalamber, the first Kirati king of Nepal belonged to the Yellung clan.

Margh 1st – new year colebration of Kirati, Prayer of earth and nature, celebrate new year with the rember of their ancient king “Yalambar” . So, the title is called “Yala”.Yala called Yalamber.

In this day people boiled "Tarul (Root food)". According to the Bairage Kaila, Kirati used to take 43 types of species of root food. Among the cost of Kirati, Rai, Limbhu,, Sunuwar and Yakha had plays vital role to take legamate of their sambat. Rai says Yale Dong, Limbhu says Tanngbay and Sunuwar says Thochew for their new year.

Bull Fight

Bull Fight in Nepal

Bull Fight is also one of the festival of Nepal . Basically, it is celebrated in Dhading, Nuwakot area. Villagers are to be gather to see bull fight. The celebrating way of bull fight is different accoriding to the territory. One of the interesting thing of Maghe Shankaranti (1st Day of Margh Month according to Nepal calendar).

Maghe Sankranti

Maghe Sankranti (or Maghe Sakrati) is observed at the beginning of the holy month of Magh, around January 15. It brings an end to the ill-omened month of Poush (mid-december) when all religious ceremonies are forbidden. Even if it is considered the coldest day of the year, it marks the coming of warmer weather and better days of health and fortune.
